Whether it is playing a sport, learning new life skills or enjoying social activities, there is always something fun happening through The Arc's recreation program! Social & Skill-building Activities

The Arc Recreation Department provides a variety of social activities and learning experiences for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Often Access Link can be arranged for those people without transportation to and from events.

These activities include:

•  Adult Evening Classes

•  Holiday Parties

•  Dances

•  Bingo

•  Socialization Club

Athletics

Organized training and team participation is offered on a seasonal basis in the following sports.   Participation in Special Olympic competition is included at the conclusion of each season. Some of the Special Olympics training can be adapted for younger participants.

Sports offered include:

• Basketball
• Bocce
• Bowling
• Golf
• Floor Hockey
• Soccer
• Softball
• Tennis

Golf Program:

The Golf program is one of the newest and most popular recreation activities.   Players learn golfing skills and etiquette from a golf professional.   Then they are paired up with a volunteer golf partner from the community to further work on their skills and knowledge of the sport.   Golfers participate in Special Olympics golf competitions on a regional and state level.
