The lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer are here and so is the start of camp! This year The Arc of Atlantic County is supporting 25 children at Camp by the Sea because of your generosity. In fact, many of the children are only able to attend because of donations we receive from caring community members like you.
For these children Camp by the Sea, the Jewish Community Center’s inclusive summer camp in Margate, means playing, swimming, arts and crafts, basketball, exploring nature and a host of other activities that are not usually available to kids with disabilities. They have amazing experiences! Just look at the smile on Mitchell’s face (above). Best of all they feel included, some for the very first time.
The children get to participate in camp activities with all the other campers. The experience has amazing benefits for everyone as barriers fall and myths are dispelled. To see our campers grow in self confidence and self-esteem touches the hearts of everyone involved. Parents and teachers tell us how amazed they are at the progress the children make in social skills, language and the ability to connect with other children.
Each year your generosity helps fund the shortfall ($8,100 this year) so no children have to miss out on an awesome summer experience. If 100 people each give $81, we will achieve our goal! Please give as generously as you can. Every gift makes a difference.
Please join me again in making summer special for a child. Make your donation online today by clicking here. Be sure to choose "Summer Camp" in the Donation Category drop-down menu. Thank you so much!

P.S. When you donate to our inclusive summer camp program, you’ll hear first-hand from a camper about how much fun they’re having thanks to you. Keep an eye out for a post-card later this summer!
