Residential Manager

Salary:     Starting $32,000 annualized salary-exempt

Location:  Galloway Township

Requirements:  Associate’s degree and two (2) years of experience or high school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.  Supervisory experience required.  Must be able to respectfully communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing with consumers, all levels of staff, family members, medical professionals and other persons in the community.  Must be able to use good judgment in dealing with consumer issues/emergencies, as well as staff related issues.  Must work well independently, have excellent initiation and follow through, and maintain a good working relationship with supervisor.

 Other:                

  • Valid New Jersey drivers license.
  • Successful completion of all pre-service training, at time of hire, or within 3 months of employment.
  • CPR and First aid certification.
  • Physical and negative Mantoux or chest x-ray every year.                                       

Description:

  • This will be a unique opportunity to open a new home, hire a full complement of staff and purchase furnishings. 
  • Prepare the home for 4 individuals including at least one person who will require accessible accommodations and lifting/transferring assistance.
  • Assure a smooth transition from the developmental centers to the community, including the coordination between center and Arc staff. 
  • Serve as the site manager and a role model for all staff and residents at the home. 

  • Insure the overall health and safety of consumers and strive to have consumers understand and exercise their rights to the fullest extent possible. 

  • Provide training to consumers in the development of independent living skills, including, but not limited to, instruction in social skills, meal preparation, money management, sexuality, and hygiene. 

  • Transport consumers as required.  Assure completion of fiscal and other documentation responsibilities. 

  • Provide supervision and training to Residential Assistant Manager and direct service staff in all areas of program responsibility. 

Medical Facilitator

Salary:     Starting $12.00 per hour

Location:  Pleasantville

Requirements:  Education/Experience: Associate’s degree and two (2) years experience or high school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.  Residential experience preferred.  Supervisory experience preferred.  Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing with consumers, all levels of staff, family members, medical professionals and other persons in the community. Description: To serve as Facilitator for self-contained, HUD funded apartment building for adults with developmental disabilities with a focus on Medical responsibilities.  Provide supervision and training to direct service staff in their areas of responsibility with regard to consumer medical issues. Provide training to consumers regarding their medications and medical issues. Transport consumers as required.  Assure completion of documentation responsibilities. 

 

Residential Assistant Manager

Salary: $11.58/hour

Location: Absecon, Mays Landing.

Requirements: Associate’s degree and one (1) year of experience or high school diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.  Supervisory experience not necessary, but preferred.  This position will require physical assistance to people and sometimes extensive assistance with personal hygiene. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently. Must be flexible. Schedule to be determined based on program needs.  Description: Serve as the Residential Assistant Manager and a role model for other staff at the group home site.  Insure the overall health and safety of consumers and strive to have consumers understand and exercise their rights to the fullest extent possible.  Providing training to consumers in the development of independent living skills, including, but not limited to, instruction in social skills, meal preparation, money management, sexuality, and hygiene.  Transport consumers as required.  Assure completion of fiscal and other documentation responsibilities as assigned by the residential manager.  Provide day-to-day supervision and training to direct service staff in all areas of program responsibility.

Residential Assistant:

Salary: $9.25 per hour, $9.75 after 6 month probation, or after set amounts of training and work hours are completed. Full Benefits package. Full-time and part-time available.

Location: Pleasantville, Absecon, Mays Landing or Hammonton.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid NJ driver's license and a high school diploma/GED. Experience preferred, but not necessary. We will train.

Description: Provide assistance with daily life skills including cooking, bathing, cleaning, recreational activities and social events in the community.

Residential Substitute:

Salary: $9.25/hr increased incrementally to $9.75/hr when training is complete.

Location: Locations and hours may vary. Employee has control over shifts they accept. 

Requirements:  Valid, non-probationary NJ Driver’s License, at least 18 years of age, High School Diploma or GED. 

Description: Occasional shift substitution for Residential Assistants as needed.  Support adults to master living skills (meal prep, medical appointments, recreation, etc.) and pursue life-enhancing goals. Duties may require lifting of heavy objects or people. 

Supportive  Living Counselor: 

Salary: $11.22 per hour.

Requirements: High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred, two (2) years of experience in direct care work with individuals with developmental disabilities.  Must be able to respectfully communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing with consumers, all levels of staff, family members and other persons in the community.  Must be able to use good judgment in dealing with consumer issues/emergencies, as well as staff related issues.  Must work well independently and maintain a good working relationship with supervisor.

Description: Provide support and training to consumers in the development of independent living skills including, but not limited to, instructions in relationship development, meal preparation, money management, sexuality training, clothing maintenance and hygiene.  May involve transportation of consumers.  Insure overall health and safety of consumers.  Assure completion of fiscal responsibilities. 

Family Support Associates: 

Part Time, Associate Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university preferred (experience may be substituted for education).   High School diploma or GED required.  Must be at least 18 years of age.  One year of experience in direct care work in human services, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities.  Valid, non-probationary New Jersey driver’s license required.  College work in related field may substitute for experience.  General Description:  To implement services and interventions that will provide individuals and their families the support services they need in a dignified manner, within a safe, stimulating, growth enhancing environment.  $9.45/hour.  Hours determined by program and/or individual needs 

Family Support Positions available:          

  • Real Life Choices – hours vary by need; $9.45/hour.  Driving is required.  To support individuals who live in the community to participate in recreational and social events
  • Hotel Respite – weekends, varying shifts; $9.45/hour.  Driving is required.  To support individuals on a weekend getaway to a local hotel.
  • After School – 2:30pm-5:00pm available M-F;  $9.45/hour.  Experience working with children preferred.
  • Saturday Program – approx. 8:30am-4:30pm, $9.45/hour.  Driving is required.  To support children who live in the community to participate in a respite program. 
  • Life Skills Tutors – hours vary by need; $9.45/hour.  Must have reliable transportation.  To tutor individuals in their homes on various topics including reading, mathematics, balancing a checkbook, etc.
